Gary Ames is a licensed psychologist specializing in neurofeedback.

He is dedicated to this field as an efficient way to relieve suffering from an array of emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges.

Gary Ames started learning and teaching biofeedback in the 1970s in San Francisco. He taught psychology full time at Penn State and Delaware County Community College and part time at several others colleges. After earning his MBA in 1983 he also taught courses in business.

In 1984 he became an executive coach assisting individuals with their job search. He worked closely with 1000 managers, professionals and executives in all industries to help them attain a better job. Gary emphasized assessment and reaching down deep to recall and articulate each client’s best work. The accomplishment material bred confidence and the stories helped every aspect of the job campaign until they succeeded in getting a new position.

In 2001, Gary launched QuickJobSearch.com to serve a national clientele. He created innovative career services and new ways to find a good new job.

Gary returned to biofeedback and neurofeedback in 2003 with intensity. He was an early adopter of the Passive Infrared Hemoencephalography, a new form of neurofeedback where you learn biofeedback control over your regional cerebral blood flow.

Gary Ames, BCIA has recently become Board Certified in Neurofeedback from the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance.

His clients are both children and adults aged 2-84.  Their most common issues are: ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, migraine. Also autism, alcohol/substance abuse, eating disorders, PTSD, anger, and learning difficulties.

Gary earns nearly all his ongoing professional training at neurofeedback conferences.

Since 2005 Gary is also Executive Director of Behavior Analysis & Therapy Partners, a psychological consulting firm in Bala Cynwyd. We provide BHRS or wrap-around services. We provide clinicians to schools, home and community for children with autism and other serious psychiatric conditions.
